Letter From Our President

Dear Fellow Community Developers,

Hello and thank you for your interest in the Arkansas Community Development Society. Just about anything that can affect the people of a community and improve their comfort and well being can be considered as falling under the community development umbrella. With that being said, we all have an opportunity to impact our communities through various activities, volunteering and even serving as leaders are some examples. The opportunities are endless. Even a few hours picking up trash helps improve your community. As well, consider yourselves ambassadors of your community. Look for and speak to the good in your community. Focusing on opportunities and strengths can help keep the efforts positive. We all have hidden community assets that we have not yet fully tapped, especially in use of our human capacity. And remember, community development precedes economic development. Let’s share our success stories through our community developers network so that we can grow as communities and as a state. See you at the April conference.
